Why do I get electric shocks-please read?
The shocks you describe are static electricity. As you move about, clothes shifting on your body or clothes rubbing against other objects creates static electricity which you carry with you because your body is electrically insulated from ground by your rubber-soled shoes. When you make contact with (or get close enough to) a grounding source, the static will immediately discharge through your body to the neutral source and you experience a shock. Low humidity and certain combinations of clothing can compound this problem and occasionally the shocks can be rather...well, um...shocking!
