Did anyone every predict your state's future?

Back in 1969, my local paper said what my state would-look-like in the year 2,000. What they said, then; I said was impossible! Florida. In the year 2,000, Florida would have NO ONE living within 60 miles of the ocean. Everyone would live in the middle of Florida, behind a 25 ft high wall. Then, in 69, if you drove 10 miles inland from the ocean; you found nothing but woods. Now everyone is moving inland; due to hurricanes. Wow how the prediction has coming true. How about your state?
