What do you think is a better fighting style/ background for an MMA fighter to have- catch wrestling or BJJ?

The two are distant cousins, I guess you could say. They both have a rich tradition and history. But they have some main differences. The biggest difference is technique. The other difference is philosophy. BJJ favors position over submission whereas catch wrestling favors submission over position. In other words, catch wrestling is more aggressive. A catch wrestler will give up a dominant position if he thinks he can get a submission out of it. BJJ has generally been more popular than catch wrestling over the past couple decades. Catch wrestling is kind of like a lost art but it does have its disciples in the MMA world. The guys who practice catch wrestling swear by it. One of the guys who uses catch wrestling technique in MMA matches is Josh Barnett. It is actually very interesting to watch a guy use catch wrestling in MMA because the technique looks so odd because we are so used to seeing BJJ technique. So anyways, which one do you think is a more valuable tool in MMA? Which one do you favor?
