Help with passages in the Bible regarding the use of witchcraft?
I have done some research on the Bible and other religions and have heard of the many codes God has given to the disciples to give to the people about what God wants his people to live by and not do. My question is why does God not approve of witchcraft? I know of only one passage I have discovered regarding the code of not using it and that is Deuteronomy 18 verse 10-11. I know in the previous passage says how Moses said to Israel how "(9) Soon you will go into the land that the Lord your God has given you. The nations that live there do things that are disgusting to the Lord, and you must not follow their example (...)" Deuteronomy 18 verse 9. The one i'm asking about Deuteronomy 18 verse 10-11 states, " Don't sacrifice your son or daughter. And don't try to use any kind of magic or witchcraft to tell fortunes or to cast spells or to talk with the spirits of the dead." Why though does God does not approve? Why does he doubt it? Do he and the israelites feeling intimidated, or the that it contained the tools to corrupt them as a people? If anyone can give me a serious answer and also any other passages in the Bible regarding this topic I would really appreciate it. Note that I am asking this just as a curious thinker trying to analyze the reasons behind why God set these rules to his people.
